I was saddened by the way abortion & stem cell experimentation was embraced in the book Both Sides Now.

in Europe: trade name Bär
specifically “NimbleToes based on Bär” from Joe Nimble
I have a personal preference for the natural leather look of older models of NimbleToes

Of course I’m disabled. That’s a term that accurately describes my situation as a veteran receiving a disability benefit as a result of my military service [including two months at USMCB Camp LeJeune which experienced a water contamination coverup possibly only second to Flint Michigan’s]. I don’t stress out because of labeling. I’m still me, and I love myself, and my wife/caregiver, children, church brothers and sisters, and many others love and support me. So why should I care so much about a label? I am limited by the Parkinson’s, not by a label, and I can experience peace by accepting and embracing my limits.

I brew another cup of the tea, which I put on my dresser to drink if/when I awake at night & get up to pee. This was my neurologist’s suggestion, & it works well, helping me gently back to sleep. If I don’t drink the midnight dose of tea, I just save & use it for my next bedtime dose, so nothing’s wasted.

at bedtime, I take 10mg Melatonin [gives an initial ‘bang!’ then a slower timed release]
and in addition, a cup of valerian tea.
I brew an additional cup to take cold if/when I awake in the night to help me get back to sleep.
This is almost a failsafe regimen for me.

Valerian tea, people! I mean it!

I’ve been taking Turmeric for several years now. It very nicely replaced an NSAID in controlling pain/inflammation. Long-term NSAID use has its danger of side effects, so that in itself makes it worth it. However, a cure for Parkinson’s it is not.

I can’t see how to start a new forum. I think this potential breakthrough deserves one, although there doesn’t seem to be enough information to research it further.

What helped us is that, from early on, we realized that it isn’t my [or his] diagnosis, but *our* diagnosis, and we are a team fighting this thing called Parkinson’s. She is with me at every appointment. We discuss every change in medication and routine.
For example, I started getting up 10 minutes earlier in order to facilitate 15 minutes of PWR!Moves before breakfast. This, coupled with a slight tweak to dosage, has made a huge difference in morning alertness and wellbeing for me, while for her it mainly means a shorter night.

most important treatment: exercise
However, C/L initially helped reduce symptoms significantly, so I hesitate to drop Rx treatment, but I rank it in 3rd place.
