This Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research video introduces 40-year-old Jimmy Choi. Jimmy was diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson’s disease five years ago.

Discover three tips for living well with Parkinson’s disease here.

Choi talks about the importance of support groups both for patients and for caregivers. He also talks about how he manages the disease on a daily basis including participating in clinical trials to help further research into the disease and how he finds his symptoms are better managed when he exercises regularly.

As the disease has progressed, Choi is now experiencing new symptoms. He now struggles with fine motor movements like opening jars, doing up buttons, writing etc., and is beginning to experience some cognitive issues including memory loss.
