I have both RA and Parkinson, I can not function without starting the day leg exercise  and hand exercises.   I really don’t know what is recommended, I rely on the exercises recommended by Physical therapist and OP.

Still working on a good fix for me, I started out taking 2 pills of Carbidopa/Levodopa.3x a day, moved to 4x a day FYI, (new  neurologist said more than 800mg a day is toxic), He recently added 200MG, of ENTACAPONE, EVERY 6HRS.  And God blessed me with this mixture allowing me to be more mobile; my PTSD meds had to be reduced because of interactions. He will start me on, after a few more months, MIRAPER,

It is not for every one, I cuss like a former Marine ( which I am), however I do not swear or use GD. I can relax by taking a long hot shower, set in whirlpool, or listen to good music.

use mechanical “picker uppers”* by RMS,have one to two in every room of house. I use weighted eating tools. also i have purchased a U-Step walker, a motorized  wheel chair with vehicle ramp; magnifying glass with light. looking for a remote television sound transmitter (not ear plugs or head phoneless ), For relaxation I downloaded free Orange Blossom tape.

I purchased a U-Step walker, it has prevented falls(especially falls forward), and the red laser light has helped learning to step properly. I am a big old fat man, I often use the walker to pull myself up from chair/bed.

My cons on Mannitol is the taste is awful, I took it for only two weeks(tablespoon)  in my morning coffee and heavy whipping cream. It took three packets of artificial sweeter to be able to tolerate the taste. It overshoots my diet of less than 30 carbs a day.

I will give it another try after I loose 50 lbs.

I fall at least 4 times a week, God has blessed me with the ability to be able to move in a manner that I reduced the damage to body by recalling tumbling skills earlier in life. I have had some really nasty falls when furniture and such are in the way of my falls. Ripping toes open, cutting leg/arm/face, fracturing ribs/ wrists/ shoulder . My biggest fear is falling backwards and passing out while bleeding.

I appreciate you sharing your knowledge, I will try many of your routine supplements, I would love to to be able to walk  to enjoy growing a vegetable garden.  My Parkinson comes from being sprayed with agent orange (USMC combat in Viet Nam), I have been diagnosed as Stage 3 Parkinson.  It is awesome that you are no longer in hospice. God Bless.
