Living With Parkinson’s: Diane Hastings
In this video by Timothy Cummings in January 2013, we meet Diane Hastings, the wife of Scottish international Rugby star Gavin Hastings. Diane was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2003 at just 39 years old.
As a patient with young-onset Parkinson’s, Diane speaks candidly about how she was diagnosed, how she coped with the initial diagnosis and how her life has been since. She talks about what it was like to live with Parkinson’s as a mother of young children, the side effects of the medications she takes for the condition and how she worries about how others perceive her.
