I had read about someone who was taking mannitol and started swinging their arms again so I tried it and it did the same for me with an added bonus of helping my constipation.

If so, have you found any helpful tools or treatments to manage it?I started the B1 thiamine HCl high dose therapy about 6 weeks ago and have been regular ever since. Parkinson’s thiamine HCl on Facebook is a great resource. I take 3 grams twice a day and also take magnesium l-threonate, 2 capsules twice a day which gives 144 mg of elemental magnesium that is needed to help the B1 cross the blood brain barrier. I can do things I had not been able to do for quite a while like shuffling a deck of cards.

I sell my jewelry at art shows and on those weekends I take a Benadryl tablet and get 8 hours sleep. The next couple of days without I’m lucky to get 5 hours of sleep. I haven’t tried taking it consistently during the week because I’m afraid it won’t keep working. Also steady use has been linked to Alzheimer’s. When I’m home in Montana I take 4 1/2 mg of indica gummies before bed and that really helps me sleep. Unfortunately I often travel to states that don’t have recreational and I can’t get a medical card being from our of state.

I smoke a little bit of indica a couple of hours before bed and take 4.5 milligram gummies and it really helps me sleep well. I haven’t noticed any help with tremors but I might need to smoke a higher THC content.

There was a study done back in the 70s that showed people who smoked every day worked faster and safer than people who didn’t but also showed that people who smoked once in awhile should not be allowed at the worksite. I worked in orchards for many years where everyone smoked without having any safety issues. I went many years without smoking and when I heard it helped with PD I thought I would try again. I have found it only seems to help with sleeping. I take a few small tokes 2 hours before bed time and eat half of a 9 mg gummy 15 minutes before I go to bed. It usually allows me to get 7-8 hours of sleep. I still wake up a couple times but it allows me to go back to sleep. I smoke indica and the gummies are hybrid. I’ve been looking for info on what reduces tremors but haven’t had any luck.

After reading about mannitol on this thread I decided to try it. It worked great until I started having diarrhea so I cut back to 1 1/3 tsp once every 2 days and it works great. One other thing I noticed is that my drooling has almost gone away.

I eat a cup of rhubarb/blueberrie sauce every day and take 1 1/3 teaspoon of mannitol when I get up. It helps me have regular bowel movements and my drooling is almost non-existent.

I had thought that I might have to quit driving. I I had read I bought a guy who took mannitol which had him swinging his arms again when walking. I tried it and immediately noticed I was swinging my arms again. I make jewelry and travel to different juried art shows to sell. I just came back from a trip to Florida where I did four shows in 5 weeks. I found that instead of being so nervous and struggling to stay in my lane that I had absolutely no problems. I even drive at night. I don’t usually have any trouble staying awake while driving, if I do I just pull over and lean back and take a 15 minute nap and I’m good to go again. I plan on going back to Florida from the beginning of March to the middle of April and numerous shows this summer. It’s 2,000 mi for me to drive to Florida.

I haven’t seen any benefits of CBD but I eat THC gummies 4 1/2 mg and it helps me sleep through the night with no noticable side effects.

In addition to eating lots of fruit and vegetables and salads I also take Triphala (a mixture of 3 herbs from India) in the morning and again at bedtime. Some people love the flavor and some people hate it. I myself do not like it so I put it in the capsules myself. As long as I take it everyday I have decent bowel movements.

I cut and polish natural stones then wire wrap or silversmith settings for them. I’ve been doing that for many years. Some days I struggle a little bit grinding stones because I seem to shake more doing that. When I wire wrap I have no trouble at all. I am hoping to get my Etsy store going again. I keep putting it off though. Anyway if you would like to see any of my previous work you can go to etsy.com/shop/reality rocks
I highly recommend that people with Parkinson’s try taking mannitol since it has helped me so much. I read that nobody is really researching much about it because there’s no money in it for pharmaceutical companies.
