I believe you are talking about Indica (versus Sativa or Hybrid), which is a strain of THC that requires a medical marijuana card to purchase (unless you live in a state where the drug is available for recreational use; then you can walk into any dispensary and buy it). Don’t know enough to comment on its use for  REM-SBD. However, given that THC is psychoactive and dopamine is psychoactive and some people with PD are known to have hallucinations and develop dementia, it is probably a higher risk option (and therefore probably not recommended by most neurologists) for sleep in patients with PD.

I smoke a tiny bit of indica (over 30% thc) since I didn’t get relief from gummies. I have REM-SBD and hallucinations, so I also take Seroquel and Nuplazid. They might relax you enough to fall asleep, but not sure gummies would have any effect on REM-SBD.

Thanks for your informative response, Dex.  I’m a neophyte on this neurologically challenging journey.  There’s so much to learn / consider.  Sorry to here you struggle with REM-SBD.  It sucks.  It has literally changed my marriage.

I use an Indica gummy every night, 10 mg THC. Cannabis is legal in Illinois; I also have a Medical Cannabis card, and purchase in-person from a dispensary in Collinsville.   I pay $38 for 10 gummies. And, yes, they work for me.  I’ve had no side effects.

      Hi Marilyne:

Wondering how high you feel after that, or do you just go to sleep? In my experience 10 mg made me quite stoned, though used pills not gummies (shouldn’t matter I don’t think…)

I don’t feel stoned using 10 mg THC gummies.  I only use the Indica strain that makes me relaxed, mellow, and sleepy.  Otherwise I’m very coherent and functioning.

I have the same experience as Marlyne Wilder, e.g. 10mg gummies, and I live in Illinois as well. Melatonin (12mg) didn’t work as well for me as the gummies do.

I’ve been looking into this too. Some people report improvements, while others don’t notice much. It really seems to depend on the person. Have you tried it yet?

I’ve been experimenting with different supplements, and CBD has been a big part of my routine. I get mine from Bulk CBD Distributors because they offer good quality in larger amounts, which makes it more affordable in the long run. I’ve noticed it helps with relaxation and some of the muscle stiffness. Everyone reacts differently, though, so I’d suggest starting with a low dose and adjusting based on how you feel.

I have a marijuana card and use indica RSO. A very small drop knocks me out in about 15-20 minutes. If you get up during the night be careful, it might make you dizzy. I’ve been using it for about two years and it works great. If you try it use very very little.

I wasn’t sure what Indico gummies were so had to look it up. I noticed you can order it online. I have been experiencing poor sleep quality lately so this perked my interest. From personal experience with another health issue I was in a lot of PAIN. The course of events lead me to try the CBD gummies which led to the discovery I have a very low tolerance for this. Yes it works wonders for sleep! But be careful and listen to your body as far as tolerance goes. I experienced what was termed as a “bad high”. I deposed of what wasn’t already disposed of by my family. Apparently the website has an app to search for this product. The area is gray as to where you live and what you buy at a CBD store. I can’t speak as to if this increases the quality of your sleep. It was early afternoon when CBD gummies knocked me for a loop. I did not enjoy the effects it had on me.

I take half a gummy made by Wyld ( boysenberry) most nights. It is 1 part THC, 1 part CBD and 1 part CBN; it’s about $ 20.- for 1o gummies. It has greatly improved my sleep; I now get at least 7 hours of sleep most nights. I was diagnosed at age 48 in 2012.

WWP tried THC gummies and vapes but did not like the bad experiences. She uses Greenforia Full Spectrum 1000mg CBD Tincture 3X a day for muscle stiffness, anxiety, stress and most importantly, sleep. She started with 1/4 dropper and titrated up to 1/2 dropper or 25-30 mg. Her neurologists approves of her use of CBD. He states that it is safe and effective when the correct dose is achieved. Greenforia also makes gummies and ointments for muscle pain. It is affordable and easy to order online at greenforia.com. Good luck.

I have been using and indica gummy to help with sleep for some time. I have tried melatonin and trazadone and they weren’t helping. It helps me to relax and fall asleep. I don’t use it to get high but I was desperate to get some sleep. It is not legal where I live but the three states that boarder us it is legal. So hubby and take a 2 hour trip to get them.

As my husband is also taking Xadago to help with the levidopa efectivity, I would also like to know if CBD is compatible with the Xadago. As I understand, these should not be taken together?

i have had bad insomnia for the past couple of years. i have found that 10 mg THC gummies plus melatonin 3 . mg has helped me get a good night’ssleep where nothing else has worked consistently . this has been a huge improvement to my quality of life l.i live in Colorado where recreational cannabis is legal so i just pop down to my local dispensary to buy it. it’s boysenberry flavored and includes CBD so perhaps it is the same brand that others have mentioned using . i get a little groggy but i wouldn’t say i get “high”

1oz valerine root to 20-32ozs of vinagar.

shake daily for 6 weeks, stain.

      take 1-3ml in dropper,before bed.

      works for me as needed.

Sativa makes me high. Indica makes me sleep. As I understand it, that is the major difference between the two strains. I tried flowers, gummies and vaping. Gummies and I don’t really get along well, leaves is too much of a production but vaping was ok. My MDS was fine with me using, but we were both concerned about my balance. Getting up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom could become pretty dangerous when you’re impaired. I used pot for a few months, and after the newness of being able to buy it legally wore off, I stopped because I didn’t think it was really helping me that much.
