  • Are there gadgets that help you to manage PD?

For Christmas, I got my Dad an Echo Dot. This voice-controlled device can be connected with smart technology for a hands-free experience. My hope was that he could use the Echo to turn the lights on and off to help him stay safe at all times. I’ve already been pleased to see him interacting with Alexa in a way that supports basic activities. Are there any gadgets that help you to manage PD? In what ways can we use technology to help to manage Parkinsons?

What I use that makes my life easier is a piece of silk cloth which I put in the middle of my bed, tucked in on the sides.  With my silk Pj´s I then have a much easier time turning at night.  Any cloth which is “slippery” would work.  I have sometimes used a piece of a shiny curtain!

I have Alexa. She reminds me to turn the sound back on in my iPhone every morning. She also reminds me to take my pills. She reminds me of appointments.
    Love her.
