    While there will be as many different theories as there are people with PD, an observation;

    Before diagnosed with PD life was always a rush. Busy here, busy there, found it hard to slow down. Now I am forced to take things slower and be mindful of what I do. It’s been a lifestyle change by being forced to slow down…..

    On low energy days I push to keep my regular routine; I find the more active I am, (within reason), the better I feel. While everyone will have different degrees and different lifestyles, walking up and down steps and keeping up my archery is both mentally and physically helpful in my situation

    Well I thought I might have had a different ailment, then I was diagnosed …

    Took about 10 seconds to accept the fact

    Oh well;

    I have Parkinsons;

    Now what?;

    Acceptance is half the cure;

    Take your medicine, do your exercises, NEVER give up on life;

    Besides, maybe I can be a role model for someone else who is suffering…..

    I started getting PD symptoms 3 years ago but tried everything until a neurologist confirmed I had PD this year.

    Theories as to why?

    I think it from being alive

    Don’t complain, you may be a role model for someone else who is suffering too

    While I do not have hobbies as such I enjoy archery. Recently diagnosed with Parkingsons, I found that a sport for me keeps me focused and sane! While there is deterioration I refuse to give in; so more weight exercises so I can continue archery. Walking can be an issue sometimes but consciously lifting and placing one foot at a time is like a meditation process.

    Just keep going…..

    Hi Marlyne,

    Your future is never uncontrollable; you are always in control.

    You may never know the reason why but acceptance is half the battle

    Your attitude is your greatest medicine…..
