  • Getting to and going back to sleep at night.

I use the Calm app. I’m sure that any similar app would work too. My routine is, first of all, try to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, including weekends. I read for awhile about 1/2 hour, then put on my Calm. I pick a good story (I usually listen to the same one over and over until I finally reach the end) and I am usually asleep within a matter of minutes. If I wake up in the middle of the night, I usually go to the restroom, maybe look at my phone for a very short period of time and then put the Calm back on. I usually am back to sleep within a few minutes. I normally don’t wake up again until my am wake time, about 6 or 7 am. I go to sleep about 11:30 or so.

I have hearing aids, so I can play my Calm through my hearing aids. I usually only use one so that I can sleep comfortably on the side without my aid. When I have to get up in the middle of the night, I swap out my aids so I have a fully re-charged aid when I’m up in the a.m.

I imagine that, if you don’t have a hearing aid, you could use the ear pods from Apple or whomever.

I also have sleep apnea and use the Sleep Apnea machine. It works wonders! The new smaller masks and absolutely noiseless machines make it very usable.

Anyway, that’s my routine. I normally have between 6.5 and 7.5 hours of good solid sleep, as measured by my iPhone “fitness” app, which also provides me with great insight into my sleep for the night. Anyway, that’s my routine. Please let me know if you try it and how it works out for you!

Try Grounding sheets for the bed. It has been a life changer for us. My husband now sleeps thru the night ( no acting out, etc!). On Amazon about 100$ or so. I can’t believe the difference it’s made!

Someone mentioned that to me the other day. I am not familiar with grounding sheets. What are they?

Please let me know what brand you use. So many out there and I want him to try the one I know someone with PD says works for them.

I’m not there yet. My sleep is very fragmented. I have tried or own everything that was mentioned and many more. I have tried going to sleep at between 10:00-10:30pm. However, by the time I finally wake up between 6:30-7:00am I have gotten up 4-6 to urinate. My Apple watch has never gone above 20 minutes for Deep sleep. My urologist says it not my prostate or any urinary problem. My MDS says to up my dose of Melatonin. I don’t want any prescriptions, but I can’t figure out why I drink 4-6oz of water to take my pills at 5:00pm and pee a gallon throughout the night.

I experience much the same as you Robert. Broken sleep. Find it difficult to get back to sleep once woken. I always need to urinate at least twice in a night. Stopped using my sleep aponea machine about 4 years ago.

I take generic Sinemet 25/100 2 tabs four times a day. The last dose is just when going to sleep. Sometimes, I awaken about 4 hours after the last dose. I take another dose and go right to sleep.

Poor sleep can be caused by a variety of things. For me, the main thing is to quickly and efficiently understand this issue. So I learned a lot of useful things from here https://www.pissedconsumer.com/exhale-wellness/RT-F.html and realized whether I should try it. Now my sleep is better because with the right supplements I was able to solve this situation.
