I had never even thought of medical marijuana, but I’d like to try it. Thank you!

This may be unusual, but my worst PD side effect is crazy anxiety (fear of what lies ahead). My young adult son suggested I try a product from a nearby dispenser. He’s experienced using MJ and seems to know a lot about different kinds for different uses. Recently, he brought me a canned 12 oz. beverage with 10mg THC. I never smoked much as a teen, but I really like how this carbonated beverage smooths out my anxiety. I drink it pretty slowly and sometimes forget I’m drinking it until I start thinking and saying silly things. I rarely drink alcohol but know the THC is simple, apparently harmless at this strength, and effective (no next day feeling lousy as I do with alcohol.) I tried sending a case of it to my brother who is an avid MJ user (he likes the drink because it’s light and easy, although kinda pricey) in another state, but it’s illegal there!

So, if you’re looking for a gentle but effective relaxant, I recommend you find a product similar to what I’m describing. What I drink is only distributed in some states.

This year I will abide by the program recommended by Laurie Mischley ND much more closely, with the hope of slowing my Parkinson’s progression. It involves adherence to recommended foods, exercises, supplements and socializing. Her rationale is unique, using a holistic approach. I have traditionally trained physicians as well.

One of her most informational and inspiring webinars is on YouTube:

I’m sad to hear about your sister’s placement in a care facility–it makes me angry that her PD is linked to Agent Orange–I know you equally feel her pain.

I’m also considering stem cell therapy and I appreciate you mentioning how your friend has fared and the name of the clinic that administered it. I believe the substance you referred to is Mannitol–a diuretic, and from what I gather, Brain 770 is an herbal supplement, supposedly good for the pineal gland, whatever that is. (I’ll look it up later. Ha!)

  • I either eat 5-6 prunes daily or drink a cup (maybe 7 ounces) of prune juice daily. What a concept! It’s worked for months and it’s natural. 🙂

An almost negligible tremor began in my left hand (15 months ago). In February, 2024, my left hand tremors grew stronger. Now, I have tremors in my both feet and continue in my left hand.

What a novel use of nicotine patches! I had never thought of this. I will shop for patches tomorrow. Thank you!

My Parkinson’s is still in its early stage (gracias a las diosas) but I became plagued by anxiety. My neurologist told me I was suffering 5% from Parkinson’s and 95% from anxiety over the disease. I nearly lost my mind several months ago because my body and mind couldn’t sustain my over-the-cliff anxiety (fear).

My psychiatrist referred me to classes about how to cope with anxiety, and I was matched with a therapist whose specialty is to stabilize folks like myself. All this, along with a change in diet and exercise; taking a naturopathic doctor’s recommended supplements; and sheer exhaustion calmed my anxiety.

Aside from my long venture into anxiety, severe fatigue has been my worst symptom. More days than not, I’m able to complete only one household chore (washing a few dishes, folding one load of laundry, etc.) and I must sleep for several hours afterwards. Soon, when the weather warms more, I’ll be able to restart water aerobics enhanced with intense stretching. All this helps a lot with body stiffness and mood. In the meantime, I need a booster and I’ll try the nicotine patch.
