Well, for me, there’s intellectual acceptance and there’s emotional acceptance.

Intellectually I know that there are wonderful meds to keep symptoms in check and my fear of being totally dependent and debilitated may never occur.

Emotionally, however, I find it hard to accept the potential that ‘may’ await.  I think about it a lot.  I often wonder why be told about this disease until it interferes with one’s life?

I sincerely hope I can gain total acceptance and continue to live and enjoy the present.

I was diagnosed a year and a half ago and my only obvious symptoms are hand and leg tremors.

To the contrary of most, I wish I  had not been diagnosed until it effected my lifestyle.  So far it hasn’t but the worry about long term changes haunt me.  Also the first neurologist I saw put me on meds right away.  I now find that wasn’t necessary but once on, I know I cannot go off.  I have tried but the tremors get worse.

I exercise regularly, and enjoy my life in the ‘now.’  I hope my symptoms stay at bay. It’s been almost two years since I was diagnosed.

I bought Mannitol from Amazon.  Around $16.  So far, I have only used it 2 days but I already notice a change.  I intend to keep it up.

I agree.  What  is the point of knowing you have Parkinson’s unless it is interfering in your life.

I was diagnosed a year and a half ago though as many others, I had symptoms earlier.  I went through alot of anxiety and fear and for what?  It can’t be cured or treated except for symptoms.  I guess I don’t get the need to know so early.

The label says super mannitol, dietary supplement (sunshine valley foods)Canoga Park, Calif.

My symptom of relaxing tremor seems less occasional.  My leg tremor seems less frequent.

    I am encouraged.
