We must not ignore medications that re-balance the brain chemistry….. which has been altered by Parkinson’s.

Let’s be honest..life with Pd sucks..!!  Unless we are ready to deal with this reality we can’t begin to challenge irrational thoughts.

Personally ..anxiety is a physical experience with pounding heart and raised blood pressure. Fresh air and a bike ride is my go-to remedy. If being outdoors is not an option , I lay in a quiet place and take deep breathes with my eyes open. Being alert to the space we occupy is important.

Take small bites.. Divide the task at hand to compartmentalized realistic goals….ie: when organizing your large walk-in closet.. Begin with your just your shoes.

    Don’t obsess unnoticeable details.

Acknowledge that you are challenged and give You extra time to complete the task.

I have been diagnosed with Restless Leg Syndrome. The most effective remedy I have found is Ropinerole (Requip), a banana, and (2) 8oz glasses of water @ 1 hour before bed.
For muscle spasms I have had success with the over the counter spray foam Theraworks.
    I wish you success

Close your eyes..look right, left and then right again.

A Neurologist passed on this trick to “reset your brain.”

Also, avoid looking down …”as much as you can.”

Dopamine production in the substantial nigro.. And how this dopamine is used in the subthalmius nucleus is a mystery…the reason this production is shut down is the real issue. Levodopa is currently the only substance that the brain has accepted to the treatment of the symptoms.
We must address the root cause of the dopamine shutdown.

Greetings.. I was diagnosed in 2006 at 39 years of age. In 2008 I underwent the DBS procedure. My tremor continues to be nearly under total control. I made the decision to cease driving just one year ago.. Not because my reaction time has been compromised.. nor my confidence in my ability to control my vehicle… The social prejudice of my diagnosis would be Attacked by the attorney representing the driver of the other vehicle. With Uber and other convenient car services available there are viable alternatives. For local jaunts I ride an electric bike. Driving is a privilege that I no longer choose to take advantage of.

In the past I always felt that I had to defend myself when referring to symptoms of Parkinson’s that were exceptionally challenging… WE HAVE TO REMIND OURSELVES THAT THE DISEASE IS NOT OUR FAULT AND THAT THE SYMPTOMS ARE HAPPENING TO US.

GOD HAS PROVIDED US WITH THIS NATURAL REMEDY. WHY DISCOUNT ANY RELIEF.I STILL USE EFFEXOR AND WELLBUTIN WHICH I INTEND TO GRADUALLY TAPER OFF.

    To my fellow Parkies…..

    NEVER,……NEVER  TAKE AMBIEN.

I HAD A HORRIFIC NIGHT TERROR, I WAS HOSPITALIZED. THE DETAILS OF THIS EVENT WILL HAUNT MY FAMILY FOR EVER.

PERSONALLY I FIND THAT 20MG OF MELATONIN IS ENOUGH TO ALLOW MY MIND AND BODY TO REST @ 6 HOURS CONSECUTIVELY.

    God Bless,
