I exercise at my local YMCA early in the morning asI find my energy level drops a lot after about an hour of exercise class. I often get home and nap for an hour so I can function better for the rest of the day.

Hi, I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s movement disorders about 4 years ago, to date, I am still learning a lot of things that bugs me. I don’t know how to cope with my Off-time symptoms. Freezing of Gait is my biggest problem. I still learn what are the symptoms for my Off-time, for example, when I tried to walk, I feel my entire body is very stiff, and my both eye lids wanted to close my eyes. My lower extremity, muscles are tightening, can only take tiny steps. I don’t have tremors, ɓut, when Off-time came, I feel I have been hit by some heavy stuff and can’t breath.

I really need some advice from you telling how to cope with my office.

      Thanks.

      Christine T.

My grandmother very gradually began to get used to the fact that she has Parkinson’s, but now that more than a year has passed, she has developed a certain daily routine for herself. And most importantly, we are very much helped by consultations from Pharmacy B2B https://www.canadapharmacy.com/pharmacy-partner, who only suggest how to handle a particular situation better and are always there when we need them

Exercise must be done at 85% of ypur max heartrate to help improvement or possibly delay progression.

I love stretchlab. They help you have deep stretch.

Must keep participating in my passion projects or i get depressed.

    Nature. Getting out on Nature.

Overtime I find that everything changes almost daily so the things that affects my symptoms the most are how much sleep and exercise I get. If I get enough sleep, then I can manage. If I don’t get enough sleep, everything goes haywire. If I get enough exercise I feel great. If I don’t get enough exercise, I have no energy. Best advice I can give is to get enough sleep and to get enough exercise consistently. It is the consistency that is the big problem for me. I find it must be intense exercise and I prefer at least four times a week in order to feel fit. The sleep is always a frustration because that means I can’t have late nights, but only very rarely. 9 o’clock is pretty much bedtime for me. I usually have to lie down for a while in the afternoon.

Thanks for sharing, Karla. I find that being consistent is often a full time job in and of itself because it requires a lot of intentionality and planning to be successful. How do you structure your days and weeks to ensure you get the rest and activity you need? Is that challenging?

I have been diagnosed since 2012. My main issue is freezing of gait. I am using the NU SHU X shoes since last October and they work pretty well. I don’t wear them all of the time, mainly when I am out and about. They worked extremely well in the beginning but entrainment occurred. This is when the brain is outsmarting the shoes and tries to circumvent them. I have worked with the company Manges and they have been great. I also do PT once a week. Get my 10,000 steps in daily and practice the flamingo stand for balance. Something I have just started doing is when I am in a freeze I will look at an object at eye level or a little above, concentrate on that item and take a big step out and almost always I can walk to my destination ex: kitchen to living room etc. What I find weird is I have no problem walking outside or in an open area. I walk normal with no freezing. But get me where there is any barrier and I am a frozen mess. What a strange disease. Hope this helps somebody.

      Hello Susan.

Since you contacted Magnes Co. about lost of magic in your Nushu’s shoes and you mentioned that they are very helpful. Do you mind share these information with us? You also mentioned that you get 10,000 steps in daily, that is a lot of walking involved, hoe many hours do you exercise everyday?

Thank you very much for your help. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

      Christine P.

    Hi Susan J,

I was the same way, I can walk at outdoor open space without any walking aids and without freezing gate issues. But as times went by, now I notice myself having FOG all the time, it doesn’t matter we were at outdoor open space or stay at an indoor environment. That makes me feel extremely frustrated because that means my PD has progressed more than I like.
