Hi Wobblygirl, I’m sure your band is very glad to have you, and yes, I would love to see a band made up of PWP! I haven’t played clarinet since my early twenties and my mouth hurts just thinking about having to relearn how to play with a reed … but maybe I should give it another whirl. I loved playing when I was younger and I really miss being…[Read more]

Thanks for sharing, Mike! How long have you been trying acupuncture? Does it target specific areas? Does it hurt?

Thanks for sharing, Marcus. Some days it’s hard to find the drive to do the things we know we need to do. Have you read Atomic Habits? In it the author talks about setting up small cues to help make following through on our goals a little easier (.e., habitual!). Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re interested in learning more about…[Read more]

<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>This point in the month of January is around the time folks start dropping their new year resolutions.
Did you set any resolutions or goals for the coming year? How are they going so far? Do you need an encouraging word or an accountability partner to help you achieve them?

I love this. Is ‘joy’ your word of the year? Mine is ‘proactive’. 🙂
Some of my goals for this quarter include donating blood, reading at least 6 new books, saving a specific amount for a financial goal (a portion of my goal for the year), and planning a special event for my Dad’s birthday, which is in March.

Thanks, Simmon – I agree! I have actually learned a lot about people and experiences different from my own from Tiktok. I haven’t yet come across any Parkinson’s content but I’m sure now that I’ve typed this reply, I will. It’s amazing how social media can support understanding and education across sometimes fast geographic, experiential and…[Read more]

Hi Alan, it’s 1/22! 🙂
I had a FitBit a few years ago – a very early, very inexpensive model – so its features were limited and didn’t include sleep tracking. Is your model supposed to be able to do that? Perhaps try contacting customer support. I had a few issues with my FitBit and I was always amazed at the quality of support the company…[Read more]

I love the topic of resolutions and goal-setting, Mary Beth! What kind of manuscript are you working on? Have you laid out a plan or steps you will take to achieve your goal of completing it this year?
I have about 13 goals, but I’ve split them up over the 4 quarters of the year so I don’t get overwhelmed and give up. The main theme for my 2023…[Read more]

Hello Wobblygirl, and hello to a fellow musician. 🙂 I’m a former clarinetist. Do you play professionally or as a hobby? Have you had to find another instrument or interest since developing PD?

Hi Steve, thanks for sharing. I, too, love walking long distances. I’m sorry PD has made this difficult. What form(s) of exercise do you enjoy now?
