Hey everyone! Hope you all had a safe and relaxing weekend.

I wanted to ask if anyone here does online therapy. With all of the stress and anxiety in the world right now, it’s as good a time as any to focus on mental health. And since we’re all on lockdown, online therapy is a great alternative to in-person appointments.

There’s one service called Talkspace, which offers monthly or biweekly video calls and weekday text chats. They don’t accept insurance at the moment, but I’m curious if any of you have experience with Talkspace or BetterHelp.

Does anyone here use an online therapy service? What has your experience been like?

I have been seeing a Therapist for maybe 4-6 months, dealing with anxiety and depression issues.  These were in-person meetings, sometimes with my wife coming as well.  My wife could share a different view of events and how they made me feed, etc.

When in-person meetings ended, we switched to remote therapy, with a good webcam and excellent bandwidth.  These are important because a jumpy, low-rez picture on the screen would make it difficult to open up as easily as when I’m with my Therapist.

My weekly sessions are just as valuable online as they are in personm

Thanks for sharing Brian! Glad you’ve found a good alternative to in-person.
