Let’s talk about fatigue. I know that a lot of people struggle with this Parkinson’s symptom, and that it can impact day-to-day activities. Living with it can be hard.

Do you think the severity of your Parkinson’s fatigue has changed with time?

Yes! Fatigue has become debilitating. It makes me not feel well. I’m at a loss as to what to do to improve things.

My fatigue actually got worse after DBS surgery last November. I felt really good for the fire few months post-surgical but then fatigue started getting worse especially after a strenuous exercise class, now 1/2 way through class. I’ve started drinking caffeinated drinks before class and eating more protein, but it’s still a struggle.

Yes. Although I mainly deal with a right side tremor, my energy level has definitely decreased over the last year. I need to plan for allocating more time to finish chores and usually take a one hour mindful break in the afternoon. Age 67. Diagnosed 2018.

This is such a helpful & informative form!

Unfortunately I am feeling more fatigue on a consistent basis than before PD or in my case diagnosed MSA. Many times (lately) it’s a challenge to stay awake. Sometimes I’m successful, however, most times I’m forced to give in & take a ‘nap’ for about an 1 hr.

I should also mention that I find myself lacking motivation – to do even simple chores. This too, has become a challenge to overcome.

Like so many others on this forum I could go on & on but I thought today I’d chime in.

This year I seem to be more fatigued. Or perhaps I am only now willing to admit I am fatigued. I can no longer “power through“ an activity. Once I get tired, I just have to stop and power down! I feel guilty when I have to leave the completion of tasks to others, but there is just no getting around it. Hearing that this is not uncommon makes me feel a whole lot better! Thanks, everyone, for your transparency!
