I’ve have numerous other chronic illnesses: hypertension, type 2 diabetes, Gerd,
high cholesterol, various mental issues, such as Major Depression, and PTSD. All are treated with medications. PD presents the greatest difficulties for me re balance, insomnia, and the beginning of my legs twitching at night. I was DX in June 2020 during the Pandemic. I am 68, live with my wife and my son and his family. I’m an early stage PWD, and am already on Carbidopa/Levadopa. -

MemberJuly 31, 2020 at 5:04 pm in reply to: How do you maintain open communication with your partner?In the initial stages, which I am told I am in, it is sometimes difficult to get my wife to understand my mood swings, my “off” periods, my lack of ability to control my body temperature, and other things. I am trying to get her to do some reading (from others) so she doesn’t think I am crazy. I am finding it is an ongoing struggle for those who are not dealing with PD, to accept and understand what is happening.
