Biography

I am a 72 year old female who lives with my husband.  I have two adult daughters, one in VA with her family and one who lives with us.  I was diagnosed with PD 9 years ago, when I was also diagnosed with fibromyalgia.  The second year after diagnosis was the worst; I hardly functioned.  Then bit by bit I pulled myself back together.  I believe what especially saved me was joining various classes at my local hospital.  First T’ai chi cheh gave me my balance back.  Then yoga gave me flexibility.  Finally, Lite and Fit Exercise gave me strength.  I take these classes once a week and LOVE going to them!  Besides the physical value, I also have made some wonderful friends who have made my life so much better!  I also volunteer at my local library and my local animal shelter.  Getting out of the house is key for me; once I am out I ALWAYS feel better, though it may be hard to get out in the first place.
