Recently, Jo Gambosi wrote a column about the importance of support groups for patients and caregivers in the Parkinson’s community. You can listen to the column as a flash briefing here.

Are you part of a support group? Is it an in-person or virtual group? How did you get connected to it? What do you find most helpful about being in the support group? If you’re not in a support group, why not?

Just found your posting, Ally. Short answer — NO. And aside from advertising in the local news and commencing a group myself — I wouldn’t know how to forge and/or connect to a support group. I coincidentally bumped into a lassie my age with PD in my local Genealogy Group. That’s it. The peeps in the PD Nurses’ gatherings aren’t that extroverted, maybe? I know I’m not.

Hi Alan, are you interested in finding a support group? I wonder if others in this community can share any links to virtual or in-person support groups they’re connected to.
