I’m surprised there is so little discussion of Rotenone, a particularly popular pesticide among organic gardeners .(because it dissipates quickly in the environment). It is a known cause of PD and is still in use but unlike Paraquat appears to be ignored. I used it at least once nearly every gardening season for over twenty years. I wore gloves and washed my hands but the instructions on the products I used never required masking.

I was exposed to Rotenone as a teenager working at a landscaping company where I used Rotenone to propagate clippings into whole plants. Not aware of its poisonous nature, I used it multiple times without gloves or washing my hands, much less a breathing apparatus. I believe it led to my early onset of Parkinson’s at 45. Is their a known link between this chemical and Parkinson’s. Maybe we can launch a lawsuit against the manufacturer. Only thing is that the landscape company’s records are gone as the company went bankrupt.

I knew that powerful hormone had been the reason I got Parkinson’s!
