Many people with Parkinson’s experience “off” times when medication wears off. How do you manage these periods, and have you found any strategies that help?

I have found 1000 mg paracetamol helps control some of the physical unpleasantness and reduce the dysphoria, but no more than 3000mg in one day and preferably only 2000.

Thanks for sharing, Timothy. Did you find this out through trial and error? How long did it take you to find the right amount of paracetamol for your needs? Was your doctor part of this process or was this something you discovered on your own?

Husband was recently prescribed Entacapone to help extend the Levadopa. His dr explained that patients are not always aware of how much they are wearing off and end up experience greater symptoms.

I’m not sure the timing of taking the entacapatone with the Carba dopa Levadopa, but he’s been very happy with the new regimen.

Hi Ann, What symptoms were you working with that Entacapone helped the Levodopamine?
