I think that dancing is good for the soul. And a lot of research has shown that it’s good for the body, too.

Do you like to dance? Do you use it to manage Parkinson’s symptoms?

Dancing is terrific and not just good for the soul! When I enter the physical therapy studio in my building, they often put on some Motown music when they see me-I go from slowly pushing my walker, with a slightly uneven gait, to letting go of the walker and, yes, boogying! It’s like magic. A book came out a while ago called “Your Brain on Music”–something physical happens to you when music starts playing and you start moving to it, as if a switch gets turned on and you become another person. It’s great way to exercise too.
