Unfortunately, I do not know anyone who has done this, but I am interested in learning more about the procedure. Maybe you could let me know if it works. Thank you so very much

Yes, I will. He gets the 1st shot this week. Thanks for answering.

Hi! My husband is getting saliva botox in a few weeks too. I’d love to hear feedback about both the positive and negative experiences. I’ve also come across some Deuk Spine Institute complaints https://deuk-spine-institute.pissedconsumer.com/review.html—have you found any similar concerns for this procedure? Thanks

Hi
Yes I have been having 3 monthly Botox injections into my saliva glands . I’ve never really drooled badly but this certainly helps to educe the number of occasions I produce too much saliva.

Thanks for your reply; great to know it has worked for you – we are anxiously waiting to see of it will work for him. 1st shot is this week…We do know it may take some time before any results.

I am not sure WHY Botox injections into the salivary glands would work. Drooling in PD is thought to be caused by decreased swallowing frequency, not by an excess of saliva production.

Yes! I’ve used it with good results. I was getting injections every six weeks but after 4 treatments my saliva production was so low that my mouth was very dry. My Dr. suggested that we take a break until it became a problem again. My dentist was concerned that my dry mouth would cause cavities but so far that hasn’t been a issue. I’d say give it a try

I sent this to you privately before I was allowed to post replies. Thought I’d post it here for broader visibility, plus an added note at the end about gum chewing:
Good morning – Saw your query about Botox, but got there too late to reply to it for some reason. I concur with the poster who noted that the source of the problem is insufficient swallowing, but cutting saliva output seems to be the only medical treatment. I’ve tried glycopyrolate (oral drug) and atropine (off-label use; it is usually used as an eyedrop). Neither curbed the drooling much.
I did explore Botox, but my docs have all been supportive but not enthusiastic about trying it. A longtime friend who is also my dentist laid out his concern – all that salivating has a bunch of functions, including gum and tooth health, bacteria control, etc. He noted that he’d had numerous patients with dry mouth issues caused by various things, and he wound up seeing these patients several times a year to help resolve the side effects of dry mouth/reduced saliva.
Totally your call; I know my drooling is my most annoying symptom. But still, it might be worth asking your dentist for insights as to risks and tradeoffs of Botoxing your salivary glands.
As a side note, I found that chewing gum helped reduce the drippage. It stimulates saliva production, but also stimulates the swallowing (for me), so I found it to be a net positive. Sugar free gum of course – don’t want to CREATE dental problems.

My wife had a bad drooling problem. We tried botox but didn’t work. Her neurologist suggested myobloc which is similar to botox but a little different. The myobloc is working, so maybe ask about it.
