For sleeping, My husband tried medical marijuana & it did not help.

He recently tried reiki for sleeping. So far, it’s helping.

Hello Everyone! My husband was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2012. Although he wasn’t a firefighter, he was exposed to radon for 17 years. Radon is also a toxic chemical. We lived in Rochester, NY & for 17 years lived in a home that had radon. We did not know that until we sold our home & the buyers insisted on a radon test. They were from CA & knew all about the dangers. People from Rochester never even heard of radon. We had the test done, discovered radon, & had the problem eliminated. We left in 1995. 17 years after we left, & moved to SC & then to FL, he was diagnosed. Interestingly, after we left, I was diagnosed with MS. After reading about the connection between firefighters & toxic chemicals, I did some research. I learned that radon can cause other neurological problems. I have put 2 & 2 together & am seriously thinking that it was the radon that caused our medical issues. I am very concerned for my 3 adult sons who at the time, lived with us in the same radon infected house.

My husband takes clonazapan every night.  His physical movements have decreased to almost 0.  It helps him to sleep which has been a huge problem for him.  He can now sleep 5-6 hours at night which I am very grateful for.’

What is respite care?  Where do I find out about it?  I am so mentally tired.  Whenever the least little thing goes wrong, I go into a depression.  I am just tired of it all.  We are fortunate to have aides.  I am grateful for that.  I am 85 years old & cannot deal with all this awful stuff like I used to.  I want to continue having my husband home as I know I will give him more love, consideration and care than a skilled facility.  Please, can someone give me some suggestions?  Thank you in advance.
