Just read about the study using Simvastatin. I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in July of 2020, at the age of 83. I have been taking Simvastatin for many years. I have never had a weight problem, always very small, as well. I had high blood pressure for years, and did not understand that, as I was not a big red meat eater. Recently, I was able to get my blood pressure down by drinking four bottles of water a day. No one ever told me this would help my blood pressure, and I have never been a big water drinker. So, a few months ago, I asked my doctor to take me off Simvastatin to see if I could get off of it. No such luck. Within a month, my cholesterol went back up, so I had to get back on. She said it was no doubt hereditary. Probably so since my son and brother both are on a Cholesterol drug. So, I guess the study they did with this drug shows it does not help, as I am not a Parkinson patient.
