• Fatigue…

Posted by Paulo Reis on October 17, 2023 at 10:28 am

I was diagnosed with Drug-Induced-Parkinson 3 years ago. Few symptoms (shaking when I grab a spoon, micrographia and the so-called “rolling-pil syndrom) No change until 4 months ago, when I started to feel a deep fatigue when I wake up. I have to stay in bed from 8.00/8.30 am until 11.30/12.00 am, not sleeping, just feeling tired, not able to stand up. Anyone knows this?

Hi Paulo-reis. My husband has this issue as well. Not quite as severe as you but it’s still a big problem. We just had a virtual with our Movement doc and he suggested trying modafinil. We have tried it before but not for 3 weeks, which is what he is recommending. Will be back here if it works!!

    Hi Paolo,

I had severe fatigue-still do, working on it. However, I asked for a sleep apnea test from my primary care doctor. I was functioning at 38% sleep efficiency with extreme exhaustion. It took six months to get this all done. Received a CPAP machine-no longer exhausted but I have no energy at all! Been house bound/ bed bound since July 1. Neurologist appointment next week.

Originally doctor said to drink coffee, which I do not, so he said caffeine pills. See if that helps you.

I have struggled with fatigue and daytime somnolence for 3 years. I take 250mg of Armodafinil daily. It really helps.
