Thanks for sharing your experience. I’ve also seen mentions of nortriptyline and alpha-synuclein, but as you said, it still seems early days with no clear outcomes yet. Your diet changes sound sensible, and it’s true it’s often hard to know which factors help most.
Please keep us updated if you learn more about the “de-clumping” work or notice any changes.

I haven’t tried Botox personally, but I’ve heard from a few others in support groups that it’s been helpful for things like muscle stiffness or dystonia in the legs and feet. It seems to depend a lot on the individual and where their symptoms are most active. If anyone is considering it, it’s always a good idea to consult with your doctor to determine if it could be beneficial for your specific situation. I came across Injectco https://injectco.com/ while researching, and they might have some useful info on the process. Curious to hear more from people who’ve had direct experience with it too.

My first sign was a small shake in my hand that wouldn’t stop when I was tired. At first, I just thought it was stress or maybe too much coffee. I didn’t think much of it until it started happening more often. I went to the doctor to check it out, and that’s when things started to make sense.

It’s always powerful when public figures are open about their diagnosis, it brings more attention to the condition and helps reduce stigma. His openness about the challenges he faced probably gave a lot of people in the PD community a sense of solidarity.

I’m also on Donepezil with C/L and wanted to chime in. It took a few weeks to start noticing any changes with focus and mental clarity. It hasn’t been a dramatic shift, but it does seem to help with the “fogginess” on some days. Just make sure to stay in touch with your doctor about any side effects. Mine adjusted the dosage early on when I had a few issues with sleep. Hope things go smoothly for you with it <3

Microdosing with a vape pen sounds like a smart approach, especially for avoiding that next-day grogginess. I’ve been exploring different methods myself and recently came across https://ecigone.co.uk/, not cannabis-related, but I’ve found some solid options there for vape gear and juice alternatives. It’s interesting to see how people are customizing their routines to balance symptom relief with overall comfort.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It’s interesting how much the design of a shoe can affect stability and comfort. The difference you mentioned between the padded soles and the flatter Astra running shoes makes a lot of sense, especially with the wider toe box and firm heel support. The idea of barefoot shoes for balance exercises is also a good point, feeling more connected to the floor could definitely help with stability.

I can relate to what you said about tension being a big part of your symptoms, same here. I haven’t tried acupuncture but I’ve noticed that anything that helps me relax, breathing exercises, or even just listening to calming music, can sometimes make a difference. It’s interesting how stress seems to make everything worse. I’m still figuring out what works best, but like you, I try to stay open to different approaches too.

It’s true, sometimes the way we present these aids can shift how others perceive them and respond to us. I’ve noticed the same thing, people tend to be more considerate when they see someone using a walking stick or cane, especially one that stands out. It’s interesting how something functional can also carry a bit of personality or even dignity.

That’s helpful to know, especially since your husband wasn’t a smoker before, seems like that might make a difference in how someone reacts to nicotine. I’ve been reading up on this too and it seems like the results are pretty mixed overall. It’s good to hear honest feedback like yours so people can go in with realistic expectations if they decide to try it.
