Biography

I lost my sense of smell about 8 years ago.  I knew that it had to be connected to some type of disease, but didn’t have any idea which one.  Four years ago, my right thumb started to tremor and it got worse as the year progressed.  In February of 2018 while seeing my neurologist for my sleep apnea, she noticed the tremor in my thumb.  After a more thorough exam, she determined that I was demonstrating Parkinsonism’s.  Further diagnosis from a Movement Specialist did indeed determine that I had Parkinson’s disease.  I have been on Carb/Levo now for a little over 3 years, and Amantadine was added to my dosage in November, 2020.  I have seen great results from the use of both of these drugs and am happy to report that I am doing much better.  I go to the gym 3/4 times a week and work out on the treadmill and do a series of exercises with weights.  The exercise program has been a great boost to my overall health in combatting the PD.
