Tremors are one of the hallmark symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. And they seem to make day-to-day tasks quite a bit more challenging for most people with Parkinson’s disease.

Do you have any tips or tricks to deal with Parkinson’s disease shaking?

My fingers were too fat for texting even before Parkinson’s. With tremor, it’s almost impossible (and hugely frustrating!)

The workaround I’ve found is to use a stylus – a pen-like object with a spongy tip which works on smart screens and enables me to write even when, like now, I am struggling with tremor.

You can pick up styluses from mobile phone and office supplies shops , as well as eBay etc. They are quite cheap so, as I am prone to losing things, I keep a few around.

I hope some people find this helpful.

This is a great idea! Do you use it on your phone or on like a tablet?

If you haven’t lost your voice and you are trying to text, most phones today have it set up so can speak out the text you wish to send! That’s in addition to using a skylis!

      Hi John!

Yes, my dad likes to use the voice to text option. I know you can record voice messages too. That’s one of our favorite tricks.
