I was born in the Pacific Northwest and was attracted to classical music at an early age. I studied the clarinet in high school and bassoon in college and graduate school. I made it as far as the Indianapolis Symphony but gave up professional music and went back to how i paid for college being a movie theater projectionist. I was good at it and eventually became Technical Director of the Hawaii International and Telluride Film Festivals. I also put an FM radio station on the air for a group  of investors and managed it for a number of years.
