Short Bio

I was officially diagnosed this year (2019) by my GP and a few months later confirmed by my neurologist, however, like many I have had symptoms for over 10 years.  I originally attributed the changes in my body and mind to ageing, etc., never thinking it could be PD of which I knew nothing about.  I am on levocarb and have had steady increases in medication that helps with many of my symptoms.  I have great difficulty with balance and I now walk with a cane. I am in very good spirits and have a good sense of humour in spite of my daily challenges.  I am fortunate to have a wonderful, extremely supportive husband by my side.  My car is sold, I stopped driving 3 months ago due to my symptoms so he is also my chauffer. Not driving is very difficult for me but I realize in the best interest of myself and the community it is how it has to be.  I just started a PD support group and the people are wonderful and inspire me. I have been trying numerous ways to exercise to combat fatigue and loss of strength. Some suggested PD exercises I can do others I can not.  I appreciate your form and daily contact.  It’s good to share and it helps me not to feel alone. Thank you so much.
