Short Bio

I’m a retired Systems Engineer who had the privilege of working for the Air Force for 20 years followed by a 17-year stint with a major aerospace company.  Following my initial diagnoses, I continued to work for a while but finally retired at age 60 to allow myself some time to enjoy the things I loved, including golf on a regular basis.  I am currently 68 and still relatively active, following DBS Surgery in May of 2017.  This has made a huge difference in my quality of life and allowed me to continue to exercise, complete my honey do’s around the house and enjoy golfing 3 to 4 times a week.  Since my diagnosis, I have participated in numerous trials with the intent of assisting in the development of biomarkers to detect/confirm the existence and progression of PD and hopefully identifying some disease-modifying treatment which would benefit those who are currently struggling with the effects of PD, but enable the early identification and treatment of those who are not yet diagnosed with PD.  I am a strong advocate for exercise and have worked in conjunction with my local health club, to establish PD Exercise classes to extend the benefit of moving to others with PD in the community.
