Biography

I am a Parkiediva! This is a frame of mind and I have only reached this frame of mind over the past two years. I have struggled with my PD and the depression that overwhelms me at times…If I allow it. I say this because PD steels your life from you. However, I was fed up with this thief, and adopted the saying, “Stop Parkin’ And Start Livin,” In this process I have clawed my way out of depression as best as I can. Literally moving across the map from FL to ND to be closer to my family. Reducing the heat and humidity. Getting more active, involved in my community, and starting a PD support group. I figured out that regardless of my PD and being on 100% disability I still need (WE ALL) a purpose to get up in the morning. All be it, I need to control how much I do, where I do it and when I do it. I also know that in some cases my body will inevitably pay me back…but sometimes the livin’ is worth it. All in all, I just do the best I can do with what I have!
