I had taken Amantadine on its own. It helped with slowness and stiffness but did nothing for my tremor. I eventually stopped taking Amantadine when I started experiencing swelling in my legs.

I had DBS surgery last April, 2019 to help with my tremors which were not controlled by meds. I was extremely tired the first few months and thought I would never feel like myself again. I started RSB a little over 2 years ago. It’s a wonderful way to connect with other people with Parkinson’s and a great workout. I think what people don’t realize is that it is not just boxing. Hi Jean. Thanks for the welcome. Yes, I am very active in Rock Steady Boxing. It has made an a major difference in how I feel and move. I also attend a monthly support group that I find beneficial.

Hey MaryAnn, My Dad (diagnosed in 2013) does RSB too. And I got to see one of his classes recently. I had no idea that they incorporate things like balance challenges and shouting into the classes. And I was so impressed to see the way that classes were designed for PD patients. What is your favorite part about RSB?
