Toni Shapiro, Yes, I take amantadine for dyskinesia. I do think that is a correct diagnosis. But after reading your response I wonder if I have it too.

Leslie replied to the topic How do you manage low-energy days? in the forum Diagnosis Information and General Questions 1 year, 3 months ago
When I have a low energy day, I am useless. I’ve tried to push myself & break through the sluggishness which for me has always resulted in a physical accident, or messes to clean up because of my clumsiness. My low energy even makes it difficult to transfer & pushback in my wheelchair.

Leslie replied to the topic What's the most challenging part about the holidays? in the forum Diagnosis Information and General Questions 1 year, 3 months ago
The most challenging things for me are pushing myself beyond my tolerance resulting in different combinations of the following: fatigue, muscle contractures, horrific back pain, migraine, emotional melt down, lack of strength and dyskinesia. Just to name a few.😏

Leslie replied to the topic How do you manage freezing episodes? in the forum Living With Parkinson's Disease 1 year, 4 months ago
<p style=”text-align: left;”>My freezing seems to happen in little periods of days here and there.
</p>
There is no pattern of when they occur. But when they do I usually say out loud “ left right , left right left “ and that works for me.
I also will freeze when turning around. It seems to help if I just rock back & forth or side to sid…[Read more]

I pray & try to put it in perspective. It’s only for a season, & God gives me the strength, patience & resources to get through it. That does not mean there are not some tears, usually in my prayers & to release stress.

Leslie replied to the topic Do you struggle with hot or cold flashes? in the forum Parkinson's Disease Symptoms 1 year, 6 months ago
Yes, but not very often. I’ve always been very hot natured but the hot flashes are very intense. They feel like when you open the oven door when it’s set on 500.
