Actively involved in understanding the etiology of neurological conditions such as PD, where the patient symptoms are heterogeneous. Working with a company that is examining blood and urine for the presence of bacteria that are not found using traditional culturing techniques. Our findings (as yet unpublished) indicate that there are more bacteria present in the blood and urine of patients suffering from autoimmune conditions than those found in the blood and urine of a healthy person and that these bacteria are potentially the root cause of the low levels of inflammation present in patients suffering from these conditions.
