Biography

As long as I can remember I have always had problems sleeping as a child. As an adult I noticed my legs bothering me at night. It got much worse over time. I am now 61 yrs old and my nightmare happened about a year ago. I experienced a little over 3 months of day and night RLS symptoms and became delusional as I was sleep deprived for those 3 months. I had those horrible symptoms that we all know so well not only at night but every day as well. Several times I made attempts to admit my self to the hospital only to stop myself for reasons unknown. I tried 3-4 of the Parkinsons medications (Roprinolol, etc.) to no avail. I believed I was going insane and I wanted to die. In short, I finally saw a Neurologist who put me on Neupro and it worked…Immediately. I live with the not so pleasant side affects of the patch. Basically I am allergic to it and I develop a rash and itching. The alternative to this is no longer an option. I sleep now  without the insane symptoms of RLS! In those 3 months I managed to temporarily lose my mind and my Girlfriend witnessed it all! I won’t go into the details as to my behaviour without approximately 3 months of almost no sleep. This is my story.
