My wife was diagnosed with PD in 2021. Carbidopa-levodopa has made a big difference, but we are both adjusting to a new reality and future (she is in her mid-sixties, me in my late sixties, both retired). Although it’s not accurate to say that I am currently her caregiver, as her symptoms are pretty much under control and she retains her independence (driving, etc.), I know that my caregiver role will increase in time.
I am looking to connect with other spouses/caregivers for support and to learn, share, etc. I welcome others to get in touch with me!
I’d like to find a support group for caregivers either online or in person in my area (Rhode Island: Providence or South County).
