Biography

Just got the PD diagnosis at age 57 and quickly realized what has been the root of my back issues and gait as far back as 1998 when competing in Ironman Canada. While the race was full of reasons why being 105 degrees, I could not straighten my back after getting off my bike. I had to summon everything to run a 3:50 marathon and proceeded right to the med tent. 21 years later, most of which I have competed at a high level,  a pronounced hand tremor turned in my pd diagnosis and the years of pain was instantly explained. I also suffered a stroke in 2019 and was back at work full time two days later. So a shocking set of events for myself, my family and friends who have always known me as a super strong athlete. I want to believe that that fitness and strength is helping me now. Onwards and upwards, as I am signed to several races once covid eases.
