Biography

My husband (72) was officially diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2019 but showed many symptoms years before that. Neurologist initially diagnosed him with essential tremors but that diagnosis changed as his symptoms progressed. He’s still holding his own but decline is apparent and steady. This is horrible and sad disease. I feel like my husband is slowly fading away and it is crushing me to watch this. I do what I can for him, try to be patient and understanding, but some days I just don’t have the energy to be the caregiver and long to be nurtured myself. All things considered, he is doing fairly well compared to some but I know things will get worse and that terrifies me. Family and friends don’t understand and I don’t talk about it much as they have their own struggles to deal with.
