My spouse was diagnosed with PD about 4 years ago. We are learning what it means to “live” with PD. My wife is in good health otherwise and is doing a lot of proactive things to stave off the symptoms of PD (dance, exercise, walking) . . . basically movement. We live half the year (normally) in Sub-Saharan Africa (Tanzania) when we are not in the Boston area. We try to adopt an optimistic bias. Her father died from PD a few years ago (it is suspected the PD was related to his exposure to Agent Orange in Viet Nam where he served two tours of duty (he was the Commander of Special Forces . . . in other words he was the head of the Green Berets).
