For men with urinary problems my GP recommended 10 – 20 mg of Oxybutynin o.d.

My Kaiser doctor recommended 4 mg patch for Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) treatment and it is fair. Sinemet is managing my Parkinson’s.  1 Tablespoon of Mannitol b.i.d. has controlled my shaking for + 3 years.

Orexin inhibitors may help some insomniacs but have not developed much of a following. Consumer Reports had a negative evaluation: https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2015/07/skip-new-insomnia-drug-belsomra/index.htm

If Restless Leg Syndrome is a factor, try 1 – 4 mg Neupro patch. It is good for 24 hours.  If you take Lipitor, be sure to take it at bedtime for it’s side effect of sleepiness! A useful side effect of 12.5 – 25 mg Seroquel is staying asleep through the night.

I’ve been taking 1 tablespoon of mannitol from Amazon twice per day for a year and my left arm shaking has improved significantly and my voice has improved (stronger) a small amount. To just remain stable when suffering a progressive disease is an improvement.

In Parkinson’s patients Oxybutynin may worsen constipation problems.  Men over 60 need to rule out prostate BPH as a factor  Your doctor can give you a Rx for once a day 4mg generic FLOMAX . It is a cheap safe rule out that can work in a few days.

There are no reports I’ve seen to suggest any problems with mannitol and carbidopa/levidopa. A few patients have indigestion with higher doses. I am taking 1 Tablespoon bid.
