So glad to read this thread and to know people have had similar problems to what I have. I have read that low back pain is related to Parkinson’s and that a lot of people with Parkinson’s also have low back pain. The PD elements have to do with stiffness. After 5 years of treating my PD symptoms with exercise and Levo/Carbidopa I feel my tremor and body-shaking have been reduced — but the low back pain continues, worse than it was when I was first diagnosed with PD. I am doing stretches every day, along with inflammatory drugs which is keeping my pain mostly moderate rather than severe, but it goes up and down and I don’t know why. I wish I had a better solution!

I take Tamsulosin (or Flomax) which is for men with benign prostate enlargement. It has helped reduce frequency of urination especially at night.

I have heard that poor sleep is a symptom of PD, but I have always been a good sleeper, before and after my diagnosis.  My own formula, but may not work for you, is to (a) get physically tired during the day so that you are motivated to get into bed at night and rest; (b) get outside briefly around the middle of the day to get some melatonin and Vitamin D from the sun; (c) have a regular bedtime and wake up time, and don’t sleep late if you can avoid it: (d) do not use electronics or TV or digital screens too close to bedtime and keep your devices out of the bedroom or at least on silent mode; (e) keep the bedroom dark and cool and quiet at night.

Yes, I struggle to keep weight on, I have lost weight gradually over the last 3 years, for unexplained reasons. It is not due to low appetite as I eat well, and I have at least some sense of taste and smell.  Perhaps it’s dyskinesia?  I have heard that it burns up a lot of calories.
