Biography

I was first diagnosed with Parkinson’s seven years ago. A subsequent Neurologist said that I had Essential Tremor. I was finally referred to the University of Florida Movement Disorder program. I am under the care of a Neurologist that is a Specialist in treat patients with PD. I had genetic testing and found out that I had the mutated genes LRRK2 and GBA. I have tried one medication for “off time” which wasn’t helpful. I am now going to try another medication and I hope that this one will help. I use a walker most of the time as I have a problem with balance. I try really hard to stay positive.
