I am 48 and dx. this year with Parkinson’s, however, my neurologist feels I have had it for several years. I had symptoms for many years but they were continually misdiagnosed by my primary physician as stress and anxiety and getting older. I was fortunate enough to have a rheumatologist that recognized my symptoms of possible Parkinson’s (significant tremors, stiffening, cognitive issues, speech difficulties and fatigue) and referred me to a neurologist. My father also has Parkinson’s so there is a close family history.
