My wife has gone from the 2mg up to the 8mg patch. Combined with Amantadine. The patch seems to help a little. No great relief from the hand tremors.

Count me in. My wife was diagnosed with PD in 2012. Not what she needed – adding more misery to the Crohn’s disease she has had for 30 years. We have a local PD support group, but received a harsh response speaking to the person running it. Cindy has tried almost every med and all kinds of homeopathic products to help her. When I ment…[Read more]

Blanche, thanks for your post. I know exactly how you feel. My wife was diagnosed 11 years ago and a very slow decline. Tried a lot of meds, seems Neupro patch and amantadine work the best. She has really bad tremors – started in her hands and now she feels it in her body. She won’t consider DBS. The double whammy is she has Crohn’s as well.…[Read more]

My wife went to our Chiropractor for a month about everyother day. Now she just goes a couple times a month for a tune up. She’s been doing well and he helped alleviate the lower back pain.

My wife was diagnosed 11 years ago with PD. She is using the oversized handle eating utinsils, drinking mugs with a top and straw. Some days her hand tremors make it difficult to eat. Tried a Redi Stedi glove – too heavy, too cumbersome. PT gave her hand excercises, big loud excercises, and some plyable putty (stiffer than Silly Putty) and fo…[Read more]

Bill Frohberg replied to the topic Have you tried CBD oil? in the forum Parkinson's Disease alternative treatments 2 years, 2 months ago
My wife uses it. No effect on the PD, but she has Crohn’s disease, and has helped her gut feel better. Her gastro Dr was appalled. I suspect because it would be a hit against big pharma.

Not only does my partner have PD, but was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease 35 years ago. She enlisted a nutritionist (NP) who believes the Parkinson’s meds are not being absorbed properly. She recommended several supplements to help, along with a special diet of only meats, fish, veggies, fruits. Avoiding fats, dairy, sugar and carbs. It is a…[Read more]
