Where is the final cure?
I would like to understand what the latest developments are in Parkinson’s disease treatment and research as of September 2026. My father has had Parkinson’s disease since he was 38 years old. I understand that Parkinson’s is not necessarily hereditary, but I would like to better understand what may have caused his disease at such a young age.
There are enormous amounts of money being donated and invested in Parkinson’s disease research. What have these funds actually achieved so far? What are the most promising treatments currently being developed, and how close are we to treatments that can slow, stop, or potentially reverse the progression of Parkinson’s disease?
I am especially interested in understanding what significant breakthroughs have occurred recently and whether there is genuine hope for a cure or disease-modifying treatment in the foreseeable future. Thank you!!!!
