I am conducting research regarding the prevalence of increased speech rate in individuals with Parkinson’s Disease. This study involves you to read a short passage, participate in some casual questions and answers (“What is your favorite breakfast?”), and describe a picture. Speech has become my single most debilitating symptom of Parkinson’s disease.   I feel like I am falling  down hill when I try to conduct  conversations with others.  I know I am speaking too fast but i cannot seem to slow it down.  For this reason I find myself avoiding interacting with others, which is the most distressing part of the disease for me.  I would be happy to participate in your study.
