One of the symptoms many Parkinson’s disease patients suffer from is a lack of balance, causing them to fall or stumble. In this Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson’s video, physical therapist Mike Struder discusses some of the exercises that patients with Parkinson’s disease can do to improve their balance.

Read about seven ways to self-manage your Parkinson’s disease.

Struder explains that exercises which target flexibility and agility can help Parkinson’s sufferers with their balance, improving their ability to walk and making them less likely to hurt themselves. He talks about some of the techniques used by physical therapists in this area, including treadmill work, strength training, and coordination training.
